AMRITSAR: Member of Parliament Tarlochan Singh has urged the governments-of both India and Pakistan to give special permits to people born before 1947 so that they can travel between the two countries without visas.

Hailing the government’s decision to come out with a martyrs’ register, the MP suggested that the names of those who attained martyrdom in 1946 Anglo-Sikh war be included in it.” “The committee has decided to register names of martyrs of the 1857 war of independence. This is not right. Names of those who attained martyrdom in 1946 and Kuka movement should also be included,” said Singh.
The MP, who is also a member of the committee formed for the up gradation of the Amritsar airport, said, “I fail to understand why the Union government has not named the airport after Guru Ram Das till now.”
