AMRITSAR: Despite tall claims of police, snatching incidents have become a regular feature on city roads, with one case of theft and two incidents of snatching being reported at different police stations on Saturday. In the first case, one Kamaljit Kaur told the police that at 6.45 pm when she and her daughter were coming home, an unidentified person, who came on a Pulsar motorcycle, sped away with her purse containing Rs 35,000 cash, bank pass book and other important documents.
In another case, one Jagir Singh claimed that, “I and my wife were going on scooter at Ranjit Avenue bye pass, when the suspects came on a motorcycle and fled away after snatching the purse of my wife in which she was carrying Rs 500 cash and spectacles. She fell on the road and became unconscious.” Meanwhile, another city resident, Gurcharan Dass, has claimed that his motorcycle was stolen from outside his house in the Kabir Park area.
