BATHINDA: Four prisoners were injured, two of them seriously, in a clash in front of the Central Jail here on Wednesday.
According to information, two rival groups clashed when the prisoners were being taken by a police escort to a local court for a hearing.
The seriously injured have been identified as Varinder Singh from Lambi, who is facing trial in a murder case, and Devinder Singh.
Both were seriously injured and admitted to the civil hospital. Later, one of them was referred to a private hospital.
Two others from the rival group were also given medical attention, sources said.
Civil Lines SHO Buta Singh said a case under Sections 323, 324 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against Bagga Singh and Tejinder Singh at the city police station.
