GHUDDA (BATHINDA): Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said there were “certain disruptive forces” supported by “anti-Punjab people” trying to revive terrorism by triggering communal clashes in the state.
Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for a degree college at the Central University site here, Badal urged the people of the state not to allow miscreants and enemies of peace to disturb the communal harmony.
Referring to the violence in Batala on Saturday, Badal said he had directed the authorities to investigate the causes behind the incident. He added the conspiracy angle was also being probed.
On the issue of Sikhs blacklisted by the Union Home Ministry, Badal said the state government would soon send a list of such Sikhs to the Centre to seek an amnesty scheme on the lines of Kashmiri militants.
Central University Vice Chancellor Dr Jai Rup Singh said four courses had already been started at the temporary campus in Bathinda, and 13 more would be started from July.
