CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has awarded its business of conducting weekly lotteries to six firms for the financial year 2010-11.
From among the six super sets, for which the tenders were invited, Arihant Traders, Mumbai, have got three sets, Tashi Daily Gaming Solutions got two sets and the Future Gaming Solutions lndia Pvt Ltd has got one set, an official spokesman of the state government here said.
Earlier, only three companies, had been running the state’s lotteries business for the past many decades.
Besides, the revenue of the state government is also likely to go up from Rs 150 crore to Rs 200 crore, the spokesman added. The rumours about the Punjab lottery business coming to a close are baseless and the Union Government has not issued any adverse instructions to this effect, the spokesman said.
