JALANDHAR NEWS: SAD MLAs In Touch With Cong – Bhattal
JALANDHAR: Congress Legislature Party leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal claimed on Monday that a number of “disgruntled Shiromani Akali Dal MLAs” were in touch with her party.
In reply to a query on media reports that 16 SAD MLAs were in touch with the Congress to topple the government, Bhattal said, “The number of disgruntled SAD MLAs is high and yes they are in touch with the Congress. Let us wait, everything will happen in front of the people of Punjab.”
On the Congress strategy in the state budget session, she said the party would take up 22 issues, including the plight of teachers. “During the last session, we were not allowed to take up issues, but this time we have already approached the Speaker with our list of questions to be raised in the Assembly,” she said.
The Congress would protest against implementing the Sukhbir Singh Badal Manoranjan Kalia report through which the state government introduced taxes well before the budget.
Regarding the Bill for hiking salaries of MLAs, Bhattal said, “We are of the view that before hiking the salaries of legistators, the government should disburse pensions of employees and freedom fighters.”
