JALANDHAR NEWS: Seechewal To Block Sanghian Drain
JALANDHAR: Environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal on Friday warned to block the inflow of waste material into Kala Sanghian drain on February 22, criticizing the state government for not taking any measures to stop the drain from being polluted.
Seechewal, who inaugurated “Incognito 2010″, a tech fest, at DAV Institute and Engineering Technology here, said pollution was dangerous for every field. “We should take responsibility to eliminate every kind of pollution as our systems have proved a failure,” he said.
Seechewal said the administration last year took a month to resolve the issue but still failed to stop the inflow. He said they submitted memorandums to four cabinet ministers, including Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Ajit Singh Kohar, Sucha Singh Langab and Hira Singh Gabria, but all in vain.
Jalandhar Zone IG Sanjeev Kalra was also present on the occasion.
