PATHANKOT: The Dinanagar police on Thursday impounded a bike in which the fuel tank was full of liquor. A bottle of petrol was attached on the outside and was attached to the engine to run the vehicle.
Traffic in-charge Piara Singh told HT that police stopped a HOTO bike for routine checking.
The driver did stop the bike, but fled. The pillion rider Rajesh Kumar from Udaipur told the police that he had taken a lift from the bike rider and was innocent. “We have taken the bike in our custody and are hunting for the bike owner,” said Piara.
In another case, 566 litre of alcohol was seized from a car on its way to Dinanagar from Himachal Pradesh. SHO Harjit Singh said a case had been registered.
