ROHTAK: The Phougat Barha Khap of 19 villages, which met on Sunday in wake of the refusal of a couple to honour its diktat and part ways over a caste row, has given the boy’s family a week to leave Samaspur village.
Randhir Singh Legha and his wife have been asked to sell off their village home and property within three months.
Their son Shribhagwan Legha was asked to a part ways with his wife Anita Phougat as the alliance breached social village norms, as per the khap.
Randhir Singh Legha has maintained that the family would not leave the village under any circumstances.
The family was present at the khap meeting at Dahri town in Bhiwani.
Former Haryana chief minister Hukum Singh, who presided the last meeting, did not attend.
