ROHTAK: Former Haryana MLAs have demanded an increase in pension and other benefits. A delegation of former MLAs will submit a memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the Vidhan Sabha Speaker when the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly commences at Chandigarh on Friday.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Krishan Murti Hooda and Subhash Batra, former MLAs and ministers from Rohtak district, said they had talked to about 100 former legislators of Haryana about the demand for hike in pension and other benefits.
“The pension of a former MLA, which is about Rs 13,500 per month, must be raised to at least Rs 25,000,” Krishan Murti Hooda said.
“Former MLAs in all neighbouring states are getting more than Rs 20,000 at present,” said Batra.
